Medical Care in J&K
Academic research and literature confirm that good health is central to people's well-being. Communities with this awareness and access to medical facilities are more likely to be peace loving, prosperous, and more inclined to invest in their livelihoods.
Since April 2012, IL&FS has been operating a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in the catchment area of the recently completed Chenani-Nashri Tunnel Project, which was dedicated to the nation by the Hon'ble Prime Minister.
Free health checkups and medication are provided to villagers every week at six designated points across villages in this catchment. Community Awareness Camps on health issues and local diseases are also conducted on a regular basis. As part of this initiative dental, eye and general health checkup camps for government school students are also undertaken.
